Bayberry wax in organic cosmetic formulations

 

Bayberry is widespread in North and South America. You can find it growing in small trees and large, lush shrubs. It is also known as red bayberry (waxmyrtle plant), candleberry, waxberry, and yang mei. These small, blue-white fruits are used to make Natural Bayberry wax that is used in cosmetic formulations.

It can be mixed easily with other raw materials. It can be used in cosmetics as an alternative to Shea butter and Cocoa butter. Berry wax can be combined with natural and artificial resins, glycerides, and animal and vegetable oil.

Myrtle wax is unique in that it spreads easily and has high hardness. It reacts positively to cosmetic formulations because it is resistant to stickiness, emulsion and other chemicals.

You can use it in many hair styling products. It can be found in shampoos, conditioners and sprays. It makes combing easier and has great holding properties. It is also found in sun- and skin care products, pumps and towels.
